Monthly Singings for September 2017

Sun. Sept. 3rd, 2 PM, Annual Wears Valley United Methodist Church Singing, Wears Valley, Sevier Co., TN.  From Townsend, TN, turn left or east on Rt. #321 over into Wears Valley.  The Methodist Church is about 10 miles on the left.  Bruce Wheeler for more info, 865-428-2239.

Sunday, September 10th, 5:30PM --UT's Music of Appalachia Class taught by Sean McCollough will be our guests for a potluck at 5:30PM followed by singing 6:30-8:00PM.  It's held at the Laurel Theater, 1538 Laurel Ave., Knoxville, TN.  Please plan on attending!  We need salads, simple casseroles, vegetables, etc.  We also need singers!  For more info, Claudia Dean at 865-673-5822.

Saturday, September 23rd and Sunday, 24th, 10a-3p with dinner on the grounds at noon at both: First Annual Wears Valley Convention, Old Harp Singers of East Tennessee. Saturday will be at Valley View Baptist, 2219 Little Cove Rd., Sevierville, TN, AND Sunday at Headrick Chapel, 3739 Wears Valley Rd., Sevierville, TN. More info at www.oldharp.org.

Directions to Valley View Baptist: From Townsend, TN, turn left or east on Rt. #321 over into Wears Valley. When you pass Headrick Chapel on the right, you will go another 4.4 miles to Valley View Rd. (on right after "s" turn.) Church is .7 mile from Wears Valley Rd., on Valley View Rd. Saturday, September 30th: Louie Bluie Festival, Cove Lake State Park, Caryville, TN. Will be in the afternoon, time to be determined. Remember, several of you agreed to do this, plus we could definitely use some more singers!
